Welcome to CU-Prime

Welcome to CU-Prime, where innovation meets collaboration in the heart of the University of Colorado community. Explore transformative projects, initiatives, and opportunities driving positive change and advancement.

Our Mission…

CU-Prime is a student-run organization aimed at increasing inclusion in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields through mentorship and community building. We are especially interested in fostering an open culture in STEM for those from typically underrepresented populations.

Our Goals…

  • Building a community for underrepresented minorities, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Demystifying the practices and entry points of physical sciences.
  • Connecting undergraduate and graduate students.

Featured Initiatives

We offer three primary programs for undergraduate students in addition to hosting internal workshops to educate ourselves on issues of diversity and inclusion.

Physics 1400

A semester-long academic class for first year students about what it looks like to do science.

Student Research Talks

Bi-weekly research talks led by grad students that promote networking and awareness of research happening at CU.

Mentorship

A long term mentoring program that connects new physics students to graduate students and upper division undergraduate students.
